On my latest shopping trip to CVS I found this Reusable Tumbler on clearance for only $2.62, and I thought that is would make a really good smoothie or protein shake tumbler because it has a larger straw than the other reusable cups don't have. It holds 18 oz. and it is dishwasher safe!
So, be on the look-out for this cheap clearance deal and let me know if any of you are able to find one.
Update
Well, I guess I just started blogging again and you may be wondering what the heck I was up to or where I have been. The truth is my weight took a backseat during that time, and I sort of grew comfortable with the way I was and convinced myself that I was happy and had the attitude of "take me or leave me....I am who I am!" I could only suppress those feelings for so long before they boiled to the top again. Now, is that time. I blame my weight for a lot of issues I have in my life, but yet I just can't stop eating! The thing is, I know it is wrong and that I shouldn't do it, but I feel helpless to the calling of food. (I am sure it is similar to a drug habit) I have this addiction and don't know how to treat it. But, then I think to myself, am I using that for an excuse to eat more? I'm 27 (3 years older since began) and this should be my time to shine, but it's not. I hold myself back and try really hard to put on a brave, happy face to the outside world. But, it's getting old and I can't pretend that I'm not a mess inside anymore. So confused and that is why I started to blog again to help me through
this tough time of realization and desperation of needing and wanting to
lose weight. Here's my update......
August 2010: Started new job at doctor's office as posted about here and enrolled in school to work towards a second Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
September 2010: Turned 25!
January 2011: Wrecked my car in a snow storm with a ditch and something that got in my way and hit me. So in March I had to get a new "used" car. I love it ...... it is a 2 door sports car that is awesome on gas! Yay! But, I miss the ole' boat. A lot of good memories were made during college!
February 2011: Drove about 2-3 hours to pick-up our new little rescue mutt, Sparky. I found him on petfinder.com and one weekend we just took off to go get him. Chris was fighting me the whole way down there and saying that this was a bad idea. But, when we got there and he saw Sparky he was the one that decided to take him home with us that day! I was almost going to leave him. I'm glad I didn't. He had such a story to tell and he was only about 1 year old. According to the lady that posted him on petfinder.com, he was left in a foreclosed home and the bank found him in a room. Due to the fact that she had a 4-H dog group someone contacted her and that is how he ended up with her. She had him for about a month and said he was a really good dog and got along with everyone. And then, the rest is history!
June/July 2011: Joined a local gym and started working out with a trainer. I liked how I felt, but I wasn't taking the eating part seriously so I was not losing weight and of course got discouraged and quit.
August 2011: Chris was thinking about going to school for engineering, so we almost moved. But it didn't work out like he had hoped, what a bummer!
September 2011: Turned 26!
November 2011: Went on Vacation to Minnesota and visited the Mall of America and watched the Packers vs. Vikings football game in the MetroDome. What an awesome experience! On the way to Minnesota we stopped and stayed the night in Chicago at the Hard Rock Hotel on Michigan Avenue and ate at Giordano's Pizza on Randolph Drive in the Prudential Plaza. WOW! Never had a pizza quite like that before. (delicious and not diet friendly) I was nervous to go (weight-related), but it turned out to be an awesome trip!
January 2012: Took a part-time job (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) really close to home. Still kept the doctors office job on Tuesday and Thursdays. Not sure if that was a right move or not.
July 2012: Quit the doctors office to work a seasonal job (many hours) and to free up my schedule in the fall to take extra classes at school. Well, then the schedule was changed and I was unable to take the class I need! They had the class scheduled on a Monday and Thursday ...... how dumb!
August 2012: Went on Vacation to North Myrtle Beach. Chris' family has a condo down there so we scored an awesome inexpensive trip. And, we took my car mentioned above that got excellent gas mileage. The only thing was that the seat (so we think) messed Chris' back up so bad from the long drive that he was off work for about 2 weeks and in pretty bad shape upon return. It rained a lot when we were there so we didn't get to do a lot of outdoor activities like go to the beach (two times) or golf (or drive the cart....my sport!) We had a good time and it was fun to get away and have some well-deserved R&R. Saw my first "palmetto bug/cockroach" AArrgghhh.......Scary!!! AND they are hard to kill. I don't know if you can kill one. In the picture below I put it in a cup thinking it was dead to take a picture and started coming back to life. So we must have just stunned it! YIKES! I was scared the rest of the night and had a hard time sleeping. Even though it rained and it seemed like nothing could go right, we still had an awesome time. That was the first time I was down there and I really enjoyed it.
September 2012: Turned 27! Aaagghhh! and I am back in blog land!
*WARNING* may be very exciting....I live such an eventful life! HA! Just Kidding!

L'Occitane Free 30 ml Hand Cream
If anyone took advantage of the freebie offer here, listen up. Today I got an e-mail saying that L'Occitane had reached 500K fans on facebook and that I can go to any L'Occitane Boutique to claim my free 30 ml ($10 value) hand cream! So make sure to watch for this e-mail. In the title it will read "Redeem Your Free Shea Butter Hand Cream. Details Inside." Yay, I'm so excited!
Since you have till October 28, 2012 to redeem this I am going to tell myself that I need to watch what I eat and, if I can resist the temptations of fast food, I will go get this. Then after I pick it up I'm not going to use it right away. I'm going to tell myself that I have to have a good day before I can try this. So next time I get an urge for nasty drive-thru food, I will instead reward myself with this hand cream.

Plus, this is a good way to sample before you buy, because some of those protein drinks can be undesirable, to say the least. Good Luck! And, if you win please come back and let me know!!
Also, while you over at Bariatric Foodie make sure to check out that Peanut Butter Cup Protein Frozen Pie Dessert! That looks absolutely divine.

Fat People & Suit Jackets
Yesterday my mom and I went shopping and had a girls day. As we were out and about I was on the hunt for a suit jacket that I could wear to interviews, job fairs, and other events. But after searching, I'm beginning to think that stores assume that fat people don't need jobs or do not deserve them. I could only find two "suit jackets".
The first one I saw was almost like a sweat pant material. Now, if I were the hiring manager and a potential employee showed up in that I would probably think "what are you wearing"! AND, on the other hand ......fat people should NOT be wearing clingy stretchy material.....how NOT flattering! Plus, the price was around $90.00 for this jacket. The second one I really liked, but of course they didn't have any in my size. So, tonight I scoured the internet to find one. I found many to choose from, but not any I wanted to pay for. They ranged anywhere from $60-$100. I finally came across this one on Target.com that didn't break the bank. ($29.99 + 5% discount for using Redcard)
Plus, to get free shipping I had to spend $50 so I got this shirt to wear with it or to work. ($21.99 + 5% discount for using Redcard)

Ho Hum! Diet Blues!
When you first start to diet, does anyone have trouble finding stuff to eat or find themselves not wanting to eat the wrong stuff so you don't. Then, when you are at the point of starving you go towards all the wrong choices.
I felt like the Tasmanian Devil today b/c I didn't want to make bad choices, but I did. I'm finding it really hard to follow my old school ww plan. I hope I can get the hang of sooner than later!
Any Suggestions? I try to keep myself busy, but it is just so freaking HARD!

Old School WW: First Day
Today I have official started old school Weight Watchers. It seems like it took forever to get started on a regimen, but I feel like I had to work myself up to get going. So this is some of the food I had:
- belVita Breakfast Biscuit (Chocolate) - 4 points
- Broccoli Slaw Meatloaf - 3 points
- 1/2 c. Mushroom Bisque Soup - 3 points
- Taco Bell Beef Soft Taco - 5 points
- Taco Bell Pintos and Cheese - 3 points
GNC: SafSlim ~ Tried Today!
I'm excited to share with you all that today I actually worked up the courage to jump on the SafSlim Re-Body Challenge freebie that I posted about here. Before my lunch and dinner I took 1 tablespoon of the Berry Cream Fusion. And, too my surprise it actually tasted good! It had the consistency of a fat-free yogurt and it went down really smooth. I didn't try the chews today only because I forgot, but I definitely could tell when I should have ate one to combat my cravings. The only bad thing about this is each tablespoon is 2 old school WW points. I'm not sure if I am going to incorporate this into my daily target points or not. (Still thinking & debating.)
So....as I'm sitting here writing this post and I guess I am sort of confused by the directions. I thought (only b/c I'm like a man when it comes to directions....who needs em!) that you take the SafSlim twice daily before meals and then eat a hunger chew when you had a craving. But, the packaging makes it sound like you have to take a hunger chew AND a tablespoon of SafSlim twice daily before meals. The "For Best Results" above sounds more logical to me so I am going to follow that regimen. The good thing about it is that the Re-Body Hunger Chews are 0 points on old school WW. YAY! That will be an easy go to snack when I hit rock bottom for the day.

Broccoli Slaw Meatloaf
Today I made Broccoli Slaw Meatloaf. My mom makes this as meatballs and they are sooooo good! So, today I sort of made my own version to fit with my old school ww plan. I got the idea from the Hungry Girl - HG-Rific Taco Meat recipe. Basically, I used mushrooms as a filler in the beef, then added the broccoli slaw, seasoned, and sort of formed into a rounded shape, then baked. I was really surprised how much the mushrooms pumped up the volume of the meatloaf. It could probably feed 3-4 people. Check out the steps and pictures below.
Ingrediants:
Fresh Mushrooms
Bagged Broccoli Slaw
Palm-Size Piece of Lean Ground Beef
1 egg white
Directions:
1. Add the fresh mushrooms, egg white, and lean ground beef in a food processor and blend until mixed together.
2. Put meat mixture into a smaller bowl and stir in the broccoli slaw and any seasoning (salt & pepper, garlic powder, minced onion, etc.). I used about a 1 1/2 cups of slaw.
3. Put the meat mixture in a small baking pan sprayed with non-stick olive oil spray and shape with either your hands or spatula. ( I used the spatula b/c I don't like to touch meat!)
4. Put in the oven for about 45-50 minutes at 350 degrees.
5. VIOLA! Easy Peasy! Enjoy your meatloaf!
I actually added Campbell's Mushroom Bisque Soup to the side so that I could dunk my meatloaf in it. I wanted to really try this soup but for 1 cup it came to 6 points on the old school ww plan. So, I opted out of eating it as a soup and took a 1/2 cup of it as a side. (equaling 3 points) I had such an experience making this! It never fails....if one thing goes right, two things have to go wrong!
BUT, everything was really really good and I got enough to taste the soup. Afterwards I wasn't disappointed that I didn't get to eat it as a soup. Sort of tasted like thick mushroom flavored cream (I know....it is Bisque!), but oh so good on my meatloaf!
